Job Title: Lead Mechanic – Classic Cars & Restomods
Job Summary:
Experienced and detail-oriented Lead Mechanic to join our team specializing in classic car restoration and restomod builds. This role is ideal for someone who takes pride in craftsmanship, has strong diagnostic skills, and can lead projects from teardown to completion. You will oversee mechanical work, mentor technicians, and ensure high-quality standards across all builds.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead mechanical work on classic car restorations and restomod builds
- Diagnose and repair engine, drivetrain, suspension, and electrical systems
- Plan and execute full vehicle builds, including custom modifications
- Oversee and assist technicians to ensure quality workmanship and efficiency
- Troubleshoot complex mechanical and electrical issues
- Install aftermarket performance components and modern upgrades
- Ensure all work meets safety, quality, and timeline expectations
- Communicate with management regarding project status and needs
- Maintain clean and organized work areas
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of automotive experience (classic cars or performance builds preferred)
- Strong knowledge of carbureted and fuel-injected systems
- Experience with wiring, electrical troubleshooting, and custom fabrication is a plus
- Ability to read schematics and service manuals
- Strong leadership and problem-solving skills
- Valid driver’s license
Preferred Experience:
- Classic car restoration
- Restomod builds (LS swaps, modern drivetrains, suspension upgrades, etc.)
- Fabrication and welding a plus
